Selley Group – No More Goal Setting

Cherise Selley August 14th, 2009

At Selley Group Real Estate, LLC, we use various feedback sources to determine the efficacy of our marketing and in-house operational protocols.  But as for setting goals, this is something that we, as Colorado Springs Realtors, have dismissed in terms of long-term projections or futuristic measures about how we do business.

Goal setting use to be considered an invaluable tool because it communicated two primary themes: first, the language of the business identity, and second, goals helped to draw the blueprint of the vision of a company.  It proved useful for charting the course of where the business was supposed to be headed.

Today, times are quite different for the Colorado Springs Realtor and/or real estate brokerage.  The Colorado Springs Real Estate market requires fast-changing acclimation to unpredictable factors.  Simplification and innovation are required.  In other words, being leaner contributes to the fitness of the business.

Our focus on short-term strategies enables the company to implement ongoing virtual tools for better communication and easier ways to produce contracts.  Keeping alert and optimistic about striving for excellence provides better service for the client and nurtures the work environment of our real estate brokerage.

Balancing time for business development and accomplishing the necessary tasks of a rigid schedule obliterate the idea of long-term goal setting, especially as it relates to the size of our company.

Business planning would certainly be different if we were part of a larger real estate network that competed for national top-ranking of transaction sides.

For now, our focus is to do the best we can at what we do, and to remain thankful for living in the present.
