Selley Group – Sellers Don’t Chew Your Arm Off

Cherise Selley January 13th, 2010

Staying on the topic of discovering who we are, as a Colorado Springs Realtor, I, as well as other Colorado Springs Realtors, have the unique opportunity to see how financially-burdened Sellers act when having to either relinquish or sell their ownership of Colorado Springs Real Estate property.

Sometimes the worst of who people are rises to the surface when under extreme heat.

When finances weigh down the decision-making part of the Seller, I find that it is this imprisoned perspective that many people try to naturally fight against.  Many times financially-burdened perspectives see myopically about the totality of the problem.  As Colorado Springs Realtors, I know our group tries to help to open the Seller’s eyes to different ways to handle very difficult challenges.

You already know this as a professional real estate agent.  We’re not just dealing with the task issues about the real estate deal, but also, we must help to address the personal side, and in this case, with the upside-down Seller.

I like what Thomas Merton writes, which gives some insight to how we can better serve those with seemingly insurmountable problems.  “If there is a part of ourselves that is not free, we try to ‘act against’ that part in order to free ourselves from resistance in that area.”

As Realtors, we have larger perspectives of knowledge, experience and networks.  Instead of allowing the Seller to frantically bite his or her arm off in order to be freed from the trap, in which he or she sees no 0ther alternative, I think we can offer the keys to unlock him or her from this financially-burdened cage…
