Selley Group – Weathering The Storm

Cherise Selley February 2nd, 2010

Relative to those who have been in the real estate profession long before me, it seems obvious that they would better understand what it takes to weather the storm of the Colorado Springs Real Estate market.

And realistically, things aren’t really that bad in our local market as compared to other regions of the United States. In fact, my phone is actually ringing off of the hook with business. Nonetheless, I always proceed with caution, understanding the “ups & downs” about new business activity are particularly finicky during these fast-moving economic times.

The point I’m making is this. Some of the core principles about perseverance through hard work and maintaining discipline are what we can practically glean from our elder statesmen who have longevity in this profession.

While some of the old ways of doing business are quickly fading from today’s working model, I think we should pay heed to caution about the fast-changing new ways about practicing modern real estate.

For instance, the new methods of social networking and internet usage are not necessarily the most important keys to success nor are they guarantees for prosperity. Empirically speaking, we see this playing out for many Colorado Springs Realtors who are relinquishing their licenses despite opportunities to compete within this free enterprise market.

As a Colorado Springs Realtor, I’m very appreciative for those before me who have marked the trail about Colorado Springs Real Estate, showing their abilities to skillfully adapt to market demands and who have generously contributed to the integrity of the “whole” of the industry.
