Selley Group – More Jobs in Colorado

Cherise Selley March 6th, 2010

According to Lawrence Yun, who is chief economist of the National Association of Realtors, he has discussed the reality of 2010 Home Sales nationwide as being dependent upon the jobs market.

Colorado Springs Realtors are seeing an influx of some new job markets to the Colorado Springs area, specifically as this recently relates to Raytheon Co. and the Rocky Wind Power Company.

In a recent article from the Denver Post, “Raytheon Co. had been awarded a US Air Force GPS-related contract worth about $886.5 million – according to contract officials say will mean more than 300 new high-paying jobs in Colorado.” This particular company specializes to modernize ground-control support and future Positioning System satellites.

With regards to Rocky Wind Power, Wayne Heilman of the Gazette, reports that this company plans to open a plant in Colorado Springs, which makes wind-powered streetlights and rooftop wind-power turbines.  Steve Stultz, Rocky Wind’s chief financial officer, said, “unemployed residents would have the first chance at the company’s jobs because they represent ‘a very motivated work force’ that helped attract Rocky Wind to the Springs over cities in several other states.’”

The bottom line is that jobs are being created in Colorado; albeit it’s taking some time, however, we must remain patient in our own businesses, giving back to the community, sustaining our own organizational models, and assisting the forward progress of job growth in Colorado Springs.
