When perusing over the article entitled, “Home-Buying Trends: Then And Now,” sourced by the National Association of Realtors®, one particular statistic really stood out for me.

While there were some predictable variations between the happenings of 1999 versus 2009, one statistic did not change.

The median age of homebuyers in 1999 was age 39. And one decade later – 2009 – the median age of the homebuyer was also age 39.

As a Colorado Springs Realtor, I found this statistical information to be peculiar, in light of higher median home values, as well as higher percentages of both men and women making their home purchases in 2009.
