Buyer Mindset Quandary

Cherise Selley June 16th, 2010

Dim or indistinct views about the values of the Colorado Springs Real Estate market are the cause of frustration between Colorado Springs Realtors, and buyers and sellers alike.

So long as ready consumers derive their sources of information outside the facts about the market, I think everyone can invariably view themselves as victims, not necessarily perpetrators.

The perpetrators are found through conduits like reality TV and from national news networks, in which select findings about the U.S. real estate data give mistaken impressions about local markets throughout the country.

As a result, the buyer mentality of getting the best deal possible falls out of line with the reality of local markets. For instance, just because a particular property might be considered either foreclosed or bank-owned does not necessarily mean that a buyer can purchase it at shortened time span or at unbelievably low pricing. On the contrary, the purchase process remains arduous and lengthy, and I’m seeing many of these distressed properties being offered by the banks at 1% lower than appraised value.

To renew the buyer mindset, I think the key is to get a hold of your local Colorado Springs Realtor for specific and accurate information about the home values of our market idiosyncrasies.
