I just finished counseling another Colorado Springs Realtor about her career and how it correlates to her future. The paragraphs below utter a few words of advice.
Regardless of industry, it seems like several small businesses are crumbling under the barrage of decreased productivity and diminished cash flow these days. As recent as three years ago, the familiar ways of how to conduct business have changed drastically due to credit shortage.
For many who are broken, they have come to realize that they must leave the old and enter into an unfamiliar area of business as well as lifestyle change. And unfortunately as part of change, this process requires death of what has become so precious and provides security for many of us, such as influence, success, financial profits, and last but not least, professional and personal approval.
To me, as I counseled my friend, I think the real issue at hand deals directly with trust. And when things are falling apart around you, trust is especially hard because you have nothing to lean on anymore. Even when feeling afraid, naked and vulnerable, it’s time to leave the charms of you former business days for a brighter future of doing things even better.
Sure this is going to require more risks, more faith and more uncomfortable feelings, but I believe once you cross the bridge into this new place, then you’ll find deeper purpose and contentment from your courageous walk to move forward.
Sharing a few thoughts to comfort those who are struggling through this season of life…
