According to leadership expert Richard Neslund, “Energy is the fuel that powers the engines of performance,” which is something more than giving upbeat motivational speeches or creating short-term buzz for team vision. Wendy Mack of The Colorado Springs Business Journal writes, “While the ability to inspire is important, effective leaders recognize that being an energizer is not about projecting energy as much as it about uncovering and unleashing energy to achieve a specific result.
So where do you get your energy? Of course, mediums, such as books, articles, other effective leaders and operations, conferences and coaches provide the resources to become energized. But for me, the purest form of energy comes from within, given to me by God. As a result, it creates internal energy, meant to be shared with others, giving them the interpersonal energy to move forward even when the road ahead might be filled with obstacles.
