As a Colorado Springs Realtor I like to keep my new leads, as well as my already established clientele, on top of all sorts of news relevant to the mindset about real estate.
Taken from a short article from the magazine, The Residential Specialist, I was intrigued by a recent survey conducted by Fannie Mae National Housing. Here are some findings of interest about how Americans still feel about homeownership, despite the unsteady economy.
- 8 out of 10…Americans believe homeownership is important to the economy
- 64 percent think it is a good time to buy a house, compared with 66 percent who said it was a good time to buy in 2003, before home prices peaked.
- 37 percent of Americans think housing prices will rise
- 7 out of 10 homeowners say they believe buying a home continues to be one of the safest investments available
- 65 percent say they prefer owning over renting
- 93 percent of homeowners with fixed-rate loans and predictable payments say they are more satisfied than those with other types of mortgages
Overall, these findings are optimistic for how Americans view homeownership…
