I read some interesting information about Small Business Administration (SBA) loans from The Colorado Springs Business Journal for the fiscal year 2010.

When comparing fiscal year 2009 to 2010, I was surprised to find out that there has been a sharp increase regarding lending numbers, as well as average weekly loan volume.

Specifically for 2010, “SBA supported more than $22 billion, or 54,833 loans, in lending to small businesses…,” according to the newspaper clip. As well, there was a 29 percent increase in the average weekly loan volume at 333 million.

Personally, I’m glad to see sparks of momentum in the small business development sector of our economy.
