After posting a few personal blogs for the past few days, it’s back to business!

It seems like the trends in Colorado Springs, or for that matter, including the state of Colorado, are somewhat different than our national tendencies.

Here’s my case in point. In an article entitled, “Springs defense contractors hiring by the hundreds,” written by Amy Gillentine of The Colorado Springs Business Journal, she writes, “While defense contractors throughout the nation are bracing for spending cuts in Washington, the outlook for hiring in Colorado Springs appears largely positive.”

Furthermore, Gillentine reports that the Missile Defense Agency at Schriever Air Force Base and US Northern Command at Peterson Air Force base are providing several jobs for companies, such as Boeing, ITT Services, Northrop Grumman, as well as smaller companies like Intelligent Software Solutions and Boecore Inc., just to mention a few.

The demand for these type of jobs coincides with the idea of smart being part of today’s concept of prosperity and growth. Specialization, additional education, and the will to move beyond mediocrity are substrates to long-term career stability.

As an example for any small business owners to consider, many of these companies are more competitive and have also consolidated with other companies to remain very busy and profitable.

As a real estate professional, even if you’re not consolidating your company with another, you can become more competitive and consolidate your protocols to remain competitive in the marketplace.

Perhaps additional educational pursuits are wise, in order to multiply ourselves – in terms of technology orientation and business savvy about real estate.
