Colorado Springs Low Apartment Vacancies

Cherise Selley November 18th, 2010

Finding from The Landlord Times – Colorado…

It has been reported that the city of Colorado Springs continues to grow – in terms of jobs and population -despite the other numbers reported about the national economy.

Over the past 5 years, Colorado Springs has added nearly 11,000 private-sector jobs, which has contributed to lower apartment vacancy rates.  In fact, Colorado Springs apartment vacancy rates are at 5.9%, which is the lowest since 2001.

Take what you want from these apartment statistics.  But I see two positive trends.

First, private-sector jobs show spurts of growth in Colorado Springs, which helps to nourish the local economy, as well as the Colorado Springs Real Estate market.

Second, with lower apartment vacancy rates, I suspect those tenants will eventually begin to venture into owning a home again, given the lower sales prices of residential properties and the historic lows for interest rates.

2011 is the perfect time to make your real estate dreams to come true…
