Part Two – Pay Now (Renovate), and Profit Later

We’re back with part two of our Pay Now (Renovate), and Profit Later series. In this episode, we’re on set with Elizabeth Anderson of Alchemy Design. Their company takes what’s old and turns it into gold!

The home being renovated was built in the 1980’s in the Briargate area. It screamed of 1980’s style with lots of brown, green, and beige colors and outdated fixtures. It was lacking life and was beyond many buyers comfort to renovate.

One of the most exciting pieces in the renovation is the living room fireplace. It looked very outdated, so we covered the old wood in modern white shiplap. We also incorporated another popular trend in the fireplace – hexagons. The fireplace will have a hexagon tile detail.

Another big renovation we’ll be making is on the bathrooms. For the master bathroom, we’ll be adding a full shower with hexagon tile, as well as black and white penny tile on the floor. The black detailing will be carried throughout the home in fixtures and lighting.

We are working with a contractor who will be doing some of the bigger work like reworking the deck to avoid safety issues. Overall, we’re looking to keep the project within budget so that the seller can get a great return on their renovation investment!
