Restore Innocence

We are honored to introduce an incredible non-profit, right here in Colorado Springs – Restore Innocence. Recently we had the opportunity to meet with Sues Hess, Executive Director of Restore Innocence, and we’re excited to share more about this organization.

Restore Innocence’s mission is to walk with women who have walked out of sex trafficking, as well as other victims of sex trafficking. They do that through their restoration bag program, by working in restoration – a mentor program for those who need a friend to navigate life with them, and reintegration. They are preparing to launch a new program that is a family support group so that families are ready to accept these women back into their lives.

Not only does Restore Innocence support our community here in Colorado Springs, but they have also sent restoration bags into 47 states. They ship them to partners and law enforcement. An agent or detective will use that bag when they rescue someone from trafficking. They provide bags for everything from size 2T to adults – both men and women. There are over 26 bags that can be requested!

So, what does a restoration bag mean to the person who receives it? For the women opening the bags, something as simple as a toothbrush can mean the absolute world to them. It gives them courage and hope as they walk out of their hardest times.

Are you interested in getting involved with Restore Innocence? There are a multitude of ways you can help. First and foremost, they are always in need of items for the restoration bags (you can find a list here!). You can also be a part of a group that packs the backpacks or ship them out. With just four part-time employees, they are in great need of volunteers to come alongside them. Finally, they have a team of people who pray regularly for their organization and for the mentors they work with. Additionally, you can choose to have people donate to Restore Innocence on Facebook for your birthday.

We have loved getting to learn more about this incredible organization and are looking forward to partnering with Restore Innocence in the future!
