In 2018, Judy Steenland and her family made the life-altering decision to pull up their Texas roots and make the move from Dallas to Colorado Springs. After making the move, Judy joined our team at Selley Group Real Estate. We have loved getting to have her experience and eye for design for the past two years. Her certifications as a Luxury Marketing Agent and Stager/Decorator have been a tremendous addition to our team of Colorado Springs Real Estate Agents.
After moving to Colorado Springs, Judy and her husband purchased a 5 ½ acre lot and began building their dream mountain home. However, after a turn of events and a hot Colorado Springs real estate market, they ended up listing and selling it! They ended up building another home in northern Colorado Springs, where they’re now settled in.
Like any new homeowner, Judy has been busy decorating and putting the final touches on the house. We joined her in time to see for their first Christmas in their gorgeous home.
Throughout their home, you’ll recognize a theme of “winter whites” and layered texture. By bringing some outside elements inside, she was able to give off a Colorado Mountain feel. Immediately upon entering the home, you’ll see their beautiful flocked tree with texture white decor. One of the other highlights in the living room is one of her favorite pieces of decor…her nativity on her floating shelves!
Due to the pandemic, Judy – like many of us – has been working from home. Because of this, she wanted to make sure her home office was decorated with holiday cheer. She went with layered trees and different pieces to decorate the room. She was even able to find some Dollar Tree decor which just goes to show that decorating your home doesn’t have to be costly!
One of the Steenland’s Christmas traditions is watching the Polar Express. Judy made sure the basement had warm and cozy vibes – perfect for family time. She even built her kids an adorable hot chocolate bar, filled with all the fixings and even some extra snacks!
Let this be a time for the celebration of the season. It may be early, but we all need some joy-bombs in our lives right now! Each of you can make your own home a joy-bomb right now – let it be a life-giving environment to you and your loved ones. May you treasure every moment this season.
